Mark your calendars trainings will be held on the 2nd Friday of each month, 6:30-9:30 pm PST, 322 Elm Ave, Long Beach CA. You are welcome to attend via skype, google hangouts or FT. Email FF to make arrangements.
In support of the Sewing Rebellions mission The Faux Frau’s Friday training will prepare Faux Frau’s for next month’s Sewing Rebellion activities, as well as answer any questions you might have.
In January the Sewing Rebellion launched Good Not Goods Looking back at the history of Labor and Protest as a model for how to be vigilant today. January training launches Body Banners, wearable protests for everyday life: body banners and sassy sashes for rallies, protests, and parades. This will include a sewing element, and a stencil tutorial for quick lettering to let your voice be heard
Hope to see you there!
Yours in sewing and solidarity

Frau Frau Friday and Training

In preparation for November Sewing Rebellion, using t-shirts as a natural resource, Faux Fraus will learn how to make kitchen Kovers for jars, bowls, and cups. This project was inspired by covers Faux Frau Cythnia made for the Thank You for Coming CSA box in September.
If you have sewing or other textile questions, please forward them to firstname.lastname@example.org
“My wife made attractive dresses from low-priced mill ends; her old ones she made over for the children. My clothes became marvels of reconstruction. Small patches patched large patches, and larger patches covered all; these in turn were spotted with smaller patches until Joseph’s coat of many colors was patched on my shirt. When all strata of a garment wore out, my wife tore them into strips and knitted them into thick warm rugs with a pair of needles I made of a springy wire barrel hoop.”
Charles Vindex, describing life near Plentywood Montana in 1931.
From Montana History Museum, in Helena MT.
